Every once in awhile, I receive a private message from a person going through difficulty, who wants to share a personal story. Just by listening to that person and being there for them, with focus and sincerity, makes a world of a difference. We don’t know what struggles people go through. In the words of Stephen Covey, “Seek first to understand, then be understood.”
One such message came through in the past year, from a client of mine, with whom I shared some positivity at an event and she decided to send me a private Facebook message to thank me for taking out time for her. The message moved me and I wanted to share it with you, so that you can continue to provide positivity to your clients, friends, family and anyone you meet, thereby adding desperately needed positive reinforcement in a world full of chaos and uncertainty. It’s like providing fresh drops of rain on dry soil to rejuvenate the plant roots and make flowers bloom again.
Here is her message to me:
“You may not remember me at all, We met at [certain event] when your beautiful wife was [with you as well]. I want you to know thoughts of suicide have crossed my mind several times over the past few weeks. However I think back to what you said that night and how to make positive under any negative and I have been trying and that’s what’s keeping me going. You are a true gift to humanity and I thank you for that five-minute conversation…”
So let us recharge someone with positive messages and share those on social media, for which this platform is really made. Tell someone you love them; hug someone; feed someone in need; be there for someone in distress; or just plain listen to someone venting. You never know whose life you will change. In turn, this good vibe will return back to you manifold.
With positive reinforcement and efficacious effervescence,
